Putting down your phone for an hour is excellent. Putting it down for a day is incredible. But putting it down for a whole weekend while:
SUPing down a jungle river
Making a bonfire
Helping with an organic rice harvest in a serene temple valley
Practicing mindfulness exercises that help you be more productive at work.
Meeting new likeminded friends and a welcoming local community
..that's probably highlight of the year for your parasympathetic nervous system.
For some people, it's the first step towards a healthier relationship with their device. For others, it's just a unique way to chill out.
unplug
no phones. That just makes every experience better! Without distractions you will notice more flavors, more sounds, and more beauty, as if each sense is heightened.
connect
The Japanese countryside is the centerpiece not a photographic backdrop. We'll go way beyond the touristy spots and into the lives of normal people living simply. We have a rare chance to give back, learn, and be warmly welcomed as a guest.
grow
This a space to stretch yourself physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Move, work out in nature, learn about the natural world, heal, and expand. People return with clarity, peace, and stillness that glows even after the retreat is over.
What impacted me much more though was to not have to plan or care about anything for a few days. Just leaving your phone and wallet behind, follow the flow of the group and be unapologetically yourself for a few days felt truly refreshing.
