Wakashio express to Kazusa-Ichinomiya

Why a whole weekend

Putting down your phone for an hour is excellent.

Putting it down for a day is incredible.

But putting it down for a whole weekend while:

SUPing down a jungle river

Making a bonfire

Helping with an organic rice harvest in a serene temple valley

Practicing mindfulness exercises that help you be more productive at work.

Meeting new likeminded friends and a welcoming local community

Touching grass, Ichinomiya

..that’s probably highlight of the year for your parasympathetic nervous system.

For some people, it’s the first step towards a healthier relationship with their device.

For others, it’s just a unique way to chill out.

That’s what this retreat is all about :]

What makes these experiences unique?

1.

unplug

no phones. That just makes every experience better! Without distractions you will notice more flavors, more sounds, and more beauty, as if each sense is heightened.

2.

connect

The Japanese countryside is the centerpiece not a photographic backdrop. We’ll go way beyond the touristy spots and into the lives of normal people living simply. We have a rare chance to give back, learn, and be warmly welcomed as a guest.

3.

grow

This a space to stretch yourself physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Move, work out in nature, learn about the natural world, heal, and expand. People return with clarity, peace, and stillness that glows even after the retreat is over.

Accommodation and Meals

Shared rooms in a two story beach house. 4 rooms total. Comfortable, simple, and clean. 5 minutes from the beach.

Breakfast is usually prepared together, Lunch and Dinner provided by local restaurants with local ingredients, or a communal BBQ.

Because there are no phones, for safety, I ask you to stay with the group during the whole experience, although there will be time blocked for solo time.

Prices include everything for the duration (ie food, drinks, activities, and venue etc.)

Free shuttle service or come by car.

Ichinomiya, Chiba

Getting here

btw our town famously hosted the 2020 Tokyo Olympics surfing event.

You can input Kazusa-Ichinomiya Station into Google Maps to plan your trip.

We recommend you take the express train leaving from Tokyo station at 9:00am and arriving at 10:03am.

Local trains are also available, but keep in mind, they don't run as often as in the city.

Southern Chiba is beautiful (Katsuura, Kamogawa etc.) but generally it is best to have a car if you want to explore around the area.

Testimonials

“What impacted me much more though was to not have to plan or care about anything for a few days. Just leaving your phone and wallet behind, follow the flow of the group and be unapologetically yourself for a few days felt truly refreshing.”

Dr. Andreas Dippon, VP of Engineering

“What finally pushed me off the fence was a single, almost absurd detail. The possibility that there may be a wild boar this time was enough to make me pack my bag and go.”

Leszek R., Senior App Dev, Woven by Toyota

“If you’re a high-achiever navigating stress, disconnection, or just a quiet yearning for more, Levi is someone you need to meet.”

Fede Ponce, Director, Woven by Toyota
