Who is this retreat for?

This retreat is for people who are busy working in Tokyo and want a refreshing break. More specfically this is for you if-

-You are a professional working in Japan, or with an interest in Japan.

-You want to take a break from screens

-You are physically fit enough to do a few hours of farm work outside or a short hike.

-You are open-minded enough to try activities like barefoot temple walk, silent meditation, group sharing, creative art therapy, eye-gazing. (You can always opt out of any activity, but if you aren’t willing to try anything, then you may not have as good of a time)

-You are interested to challenge yourself and do some degree of self-reflection.

For the best experience, you simply need: an open mind and an able body.

Who is it not for?

-People with an ongoing clinical mental health issues (depression, anxiety, self-harm thoughts etc.)

-People with an intense fear of insects

-People who cannot be away from their phone for 36 hours.

Example Daily Itenerary*

  • Wake up and barefoot walk to the sunrise over the sea

  • Guided intuitive stretching or bikram yoga

  • Make breakfast and chill

  • Abstract kid art time (crayons and markers galore) or journal quietly

  • Go on a forest hike to harvest fresh bamboo shoots

  • Plant a few eggplant seedlings at a farm

  • Grill up the bamboo shoots for lunch with the farming family

  • Jump in the ocean to cool off.

  • BBQ and telling stories around the fire

  • Group closing meditation

  • 1:1 check ins, journal, and shower time

*This is an example day. Each day is different because each group is different. There are factors like: fitness ability, group energy levels, train delays, unexpected (fun) encounters, and weather that make the exact itenerary difficult to predict.

In general, I try to always include a healthy mix of nature activities, community service, mindfulness exercises, group sharing, and quiet time.

I promise you’ll have a great time if you come with an open mind and expect to go with the flow :) it’s all for fun anyway

Sound cool? Get in touch and we can talk about it
