Yoji san
Yoji san
Yokoyama Farms
Husband to Kiyomi san. They moved from Tokyo after retirement to start farming. His speciality is Chiba peanuts and Asian pears, though he grows a variety of yummy vegetables and fruits as well. Yoji san is a relatively quiet guy with a heart of gold. Expect him to fall asleep at the dinner table.
Kiyomi san
Kiyomi san
Yokoyama Farms
Wife of Yoji san. She's the polar opposite. If Yoji san grows the food then Kiyomi san eats it. Talkative and curious personality. She enjoys experiencing other cultures and cuisines, most recently visiting Poland, Romania, China and Vietnam. Kiyomi san loves to welcome diverse guests into her home, and give them extra goodies to take home!
Ayako san
Ayako san
Minamoto Farm
Moved with her family from Tokyo ~10 years ago to pursue their dream of farming in the countryside. Unfortunately, her husband passed away suddenly and now she runs the farm by herself, supporting her two children. She grows delicious organic vegetables for family and local restaurants, and offers seasonal activities to share her knowledge of traditional Japanese foods.

Ichinomiya, Chiba

Getting here

You can come via express train, local train, or car.

You can input Kazusa-Ichinomiya Station into Google Maps to plan your trip. Make sure you put in 'Arrive at 10:03am' or else the Wakashio express won't appear, and it will look like a longer trip.

We recommend you take the express train leaving from Tokyo station at 9:00am and arriving at 10:03am.

Local trains are also available, but keep in mind, they don't run as often as in the city.

Southern Chiba is beautiful (Katsuura, Kamogawa etc.) but generally it is best to have a car if you want to explore around the area.
